Nogikan is located at the Zentsuji Garrison of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, and was built on October 1, 1898, as the division headquarters when the 11th Division of the Imperial Japanese Army was organized to cover the entire Shikoku region.
The Nogikan Museum is a museum housed in the former 11th Army Division Headquarters building within the Zentsuji Garrison of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. Experience the exquisite Renaissance-style design up close while learning about Zentsuji's military history and the postwar history of the Self-Defense Forces. The museum's highlight is the Nogi Memorial Room, a recreation of the offices of past division commanders, quietly displaying documents commemorating General Nogi Maresuke. The building itself is a must-see, and it's also a popular "military city architecture" spot for photography enthusiasts.

Documents from the time of General Nogi's death during the Russo-Japanese War are on display.

Outdoors, there is also an exhibition of retired tanks, helicopters, and other equipment, allowing you to take commemorative photos with the impressive vehicles as a backdrop. No reservations are required for individuals.

The entrance to the gate is blocked off by a fence, but if you inform the museum staff that you would like to visit, they will guide you to the parking lot. Free admission is available by providing your name and contact information.

[Helpful Concerns]
- Nogi Museum is closed on Wednesdays, but you can still view the tanks and helicopters outside.
- There's a fence around the gate, but they'll open it if you explain your purpose for visiting.
