Hyogo Prefectural Maiko Park is a park where you can get a beautiful view of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. It is a spectacular spot where you can enjoy the observation corridor, modern architecture, a stroll through the pine forest, and evening and night views all at the same time.
Maiko Park, opened in 1900, was the first Hyogo Prefectural Urban Park. The stunning scenery of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, one of the world's largest suspension bridges, spanning its scenic pine forests and sandy beaches, is a highlight. The centerpiece of the park is the Maiko Marine Promenade, built inside the bridge girders. Walking along the 317-meter-long circular walkway, approximately 47 meters above sea level, you can gaze down through the glass floor at the bottom, even at the passing ships and tides. The observation lounge also features a cafe where you can relax and enjoy the sea breeze and panoramic views of the Seto Inland Sea. This Kobe sightseeing spot is perfect for family trips, dates, and even rainy days.

The park also boasts a wide range of cultural facilities. The Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall (Ijokaku), dedicated to the Chinese revolutionary patriot Sun Yat-sen, is a designated Important Cultural Property. Visiting it together with the Bridge Science Museum, where you can learn about bridge construction techniques, will give you a unique educational journey that combines nature, history, and science. A combined ticket for all three museums offers great value.
