The Kobe City Museum is a humanities museum located in Kyomachi, Chuo Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. Opened in 1982, the museum exhibits a wide range of Kobe history and culture.
The permanent exhibitions are broadly divided into three sections: "Kobe History," "Kobe Culture," and "Kobe Nature."

"Kobe History" introduces the history of Kobe from the opening of its port to the present day through a variety of documents and exhibits.

"Kobe Culture" introduces Kobe's various cultures, including art, crafts, music, and literature.

"Kobe Nature" introduces Kobe's natural environment and the flora and fauna that live there.

Kobe City Museum also hosts a variety of special exhibitions. Past special exhibitions have featured a variety of themes, including original Ghibli drawings and the works of Picasso.
