Hanamikoji is a street that runs through the center of Gion in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. Traditional wooden townhouses are lined up over a total length of about 1km.

Hanamikoji flourished as Gion's red light district during the Edo period, and many geishas and maikos came and went.

Hanamikoji is lined with teahouses, restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops, and more, allowing you to enjoy the typical Kyoto atmosphere. Additionally, during the Gion Festival, Hanamikoji becomes a festival venue and is crowded with many people.
