Keitakuen is a Japanese garden located within Tennoji Park in Osaka City. This urban garden offers a spectacular view of the water reflections against the backdrop of Abeno Harukas, the colors of the four seasons, and a stroll around Tennoji Park and the art museum all at once.
Located in a corner of Tennoji Park, Keitakuen Garden is a strolling garden with a large pond, an island, and artificial hills. Scattered throughout the garden are garden paths, stepping stones, bridges, gazebos, and teahouses, creating a tranquil atmosphere that helps visitors forget the hustle and bustle of the city. Located behind the Osaka Municipal Museum of Fine Arts, its popular location allows visitors to combine art appreciation with a stroll through the garden. The large pond is famous for its "mirror-like" water reflections, and on clear days, the sky and greenery are beautifully reflected in the pond.

The garden originated as the main garden of the 15th head of the Sumitomo family, Sumitomo Kichizaemon (pen name Shunsui), from the end of the Meiji period through the Taisho period. It was designed by Kyoto master gardener Ogawa Jihei VII, known as "Ueji." Modeled after feudal lord gardens, the strolling garden features a varied landscape, including a pond, artificial hills, and sandbars.

A uniquely modern pleasure is the view of the Abeno Harukas skyscraper, incorporated into the "borrowed scenery." If the conditions are right, you can also take photos of Harukas reflected on the water's surface.
