Ichihime Shrine is a historic shrine founded in 795 after the capital was moved to Heian-kyo. Originally it was the guardian deity of the government-run market, but now it attracts devout worshippers as a shrine for the protection of women and protection from misfortune.

All the deities enshrined are goddesses, and it is said that the shrine grants women's wishes of all kinds. In the shrine grounds, there is a spring of sacred water called "Amenonamani," which is said to have been used in the birth baths of successive emperors. It is said that if you drink this water and put your hands together, one of your wishes will come true.

The cute "Princess Fortunes" are also popular. You can often see people tying their fortunes or writing their wishes and offering them to the shrine. Although it is located in an unusual location on the first floor of an apartment building, it is a particularly reassuring power spot for women, and worshippers from all over the country visit the shrine.
