Arima Kaido Onsen Suzuran no Yu is a day-trip hot spring located along the Arima Kaido in Kita Ward, Kobe. Equipped with one of Kobe's largest open-air garden baths, a sauna, a bedrock bath, and creative dining, it is the perfect spa facility to stop by on your Arima sightseeing trip or a drive to Mount Rokko.
This easily accessible day-trip hot spring is located about a 15-minute drive from downtown Kobe (Sannomiya) on the way to Arima Onsen. It features two types of water: a mildly alkaline simple hot spring that springs from 1,100 meters underground and Miyamizu, a renowned water source used in Nada sake brewing. The waters are gentle on the skin and easy to soak in for long periods. The facility also features a dining area serving creative Japanese cuisine and a relaxation space, allowing guests to enjoy a half-day stay in addition to bathing.

The highlight is Kobe's largest open-air garden bath, surrounded by seasonal plants. Enjoy photogenic views throughout the seasons: the fresh greenery of spring, the deep green of summer, the autumn foliage, and the crisp air of winter. The indoor bath zone features a carbonated spring, sauna, and cold bath. Bedrock bathing, herbal bathing, mugwort steaming, and self-whitening treatments are also available for an additional fee. Designed for a wide range of use, from families with children to couples and groups of friends, the facility also accepts cashless payment and advance online ticketing from 2020.

The parking lot is large, with 250 flat spaces, and an area that can accommodate large vehicles and campervans was developed in the 2020s, making it a great base for sightseeing around the Rokko and Arima areas by car. A free shuttle bus runs from Kobe-Sannomiya on some days, and it's also conveniently located within walking distance of Shintetsu Kita-Suzurandai Station. It's an easy spot to plan your sightseeing itinerary, whether you're heading to Arima after sweating it out in the hot springs, or finishing off your Arima sightseeing trip with a nighttime open-air bath.
