Kotohiki Falls is a famous waterfall located within the sacred grounds of Amanoiwatowake Shrine, also known as "Takinomiya." It's a two-tiered waterfall, consisting of an upper male waterfall and a lower female waterfall. The water glides like white gauze over the rock face, nourishing the greenery of the shrine grove. The path leading to the shrine grounds is enveloped in tranquility, and once you pass through the torii gate, you'll feel the air become clearer. The water changes appearance with the seasons, offering a natural cooling spot in summer and a beautiful contrast between the shrine building and the autumn leaves in autumn.

The waterfall has a drop of 13 meters and a width of approximately 5 meters. The shallow waters downstream from the waterfall basin are known as "Kotohiki no Se," and the gentle sound of the water echoes pleasantly alongside the gentle flow. The walking trail has gentle ups and downs and a few steps, making it comfortable to walk in sneakers. Although the drop is 13 meters, the large volume of water makes it well worthwhile.

Park in the Amanoiwatowake Shrine parking lot and the waterfall is located behind the shrine, about a two-minute walk away.

There is a shallow area downstream from the waterfall, where small children can play in the river. The water is also clean. The shrine's presence may also be the reason this area feels like a power spot.
