永明寺 (Yomeiji) is a Soto Zen Buddhist temple founded in 1402 located near the historic streetscape of Tsuwano in Japan.
Eimei-ji Temple is a Soto Zen temple located in Tsuwano Town, Shimane Prefecture, and is known as the family temple of the Kamei family, the feudal lords of Tsuwano. The temple grounds are spacious and dotted with buildings that exude a sense of history, such as a well-maintained garden and a main hall that exudes a calming atmosphere. In particular, walking along the approach surrounded by cedar trees will soothe your mind with the solemn atmosphere. During the autumn foliage season, the temple grounds are decorated with colorful trees, and you can enjoy a beautiful view. It is within walking distance of Tonomachi Street, a tourist attraction in Tsuwano, and is a good place to visit while strolling through the town.

The main hall has a rare thatched roof and is very tasteful.
It is even more beautiful during the autumn foliage season.
