Mount Ikoma is a famous hiking spot with a panoramic night view of Osaka and Nara. Ring the bell at the Lover's Sanctuary, the Bell Observatory, and enjoy a scenic drive along the Shigi-Ikoma Skyline.
Mount Ikoma, standing 642 meters above sea level, is one of the most scenic mountains in the Kansai region, commanding views of the Osaka Plain and the Nara Basin on both sides. The mountaintop is home to the free Ikoma Mountain Amusement Park, which also offers a wide view from its observation deck. Several well-maintained hiking trails extend to the Higashi-Osaka/Ikoma side, making it a popular "city walk + mountain walk" experience, combining it with shrines and temples like Ishikiri Tsurugi Shrine and Hozan-ji Temple. Even beginners can easily plan their trips, making it an appealing option.

One of the most famous night view spots on Mount Ikoma is the "Ringing Bell Observation Deck" located midway along the Shigi-Ikoma Skyline. The 12-meter-tall observation tower jutting into the sky features a "Bell of Hope," which is said to bring happiness to couples who ring it. The city lights of Osaka and Nara stretch out in a 270-degree view, making it a popular photo spot for hanging vow locks. Just a one-minute walk from the parking lot, it's a classic driving spot for night views.

In addition to the Bell Observatory, there are also the Sunset Parking Lot and Panorama Parking Lot.
For those preferring public transportation, we recommend taking the Kintetsu Ikoma Cable to the top of the mountain and enjoying the views and nightscapes around the amusement park and Hozan-ji Temple. By car, you can efficiently visit viewpoints like Shiraho Hill and Tateishigoe while driving around the various Skyline observation decks.
