Haga Roadside Station in Shiso City, Hyogo Prefecture, is a treasure trove of local ingredients surrounded by abundant nature. It is a roadside station in the mountains where you can enjoy local specialty venison dishes, soba noodles, and fresh vegetables.
Roadside Station Haga is located in Haga-cho Hara, Shisō-shi, Hyogo Prefecture, along National Route 29 heading towards Tottori. The surrounding area is filled with vast mountains and clear streams, allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful nature of the four seasons. The greatest attraction of this roadside station is the abundance of seasonal vegetables and fruits from the local Haga town, as well as local specialty products. In particular, there is a wide selection of gibier (venison)-related products, which Shisō-shi is focusing on, and the station offers a variety of products, including fresh venison, processed products, and retort foods.

Within the facility, there is the restaurant Kaede no Sato, where you can enjoy handmade soba and udon noodles made with locally produced buckwheat flour, and various menus using venison (such as venison rice bowls and venison loin cutlet set meals) are also available. In particular, the dishes that are packed with the flavor of venison are popular with health-conscious tourists. The warm interior, made with wood from Shiso City, is also a feature, and you can enjoy a leisurely meal and shopping.

Roadside stations are also popular as spots where you can refresh yourself in nature. There is a spacious grassy area on the premises, where both children and adults can relax. There are sunflower fields, ski resorts, hot spring facilities, and other attractions in the surrounding area, making this a highly useful roadside station not only as a rest stop during a drive, but also as a base for sightseeing.

[Trivia]
Shiso City, where Roadside Station Haga is located, is the largest city in Hyogo Prefecture, and about 90% of it is covered in forests. Specialties include woodworking products that make use of the abundant forest resources and wasabi grown in clear streams. Roadside stations also play an important role as a major rest stop on National Route 29, which connects Hyogo Prefecture and Tottori Prefecture.

[Hidden Spot Information]
The ruins of Haga Castle are located just a few minutes' drive from the roadside station. This is the remains of a mountain castle from the Warring States period, and a hiking trail has been developed. If you hike up, you can get a panoramic view of the beautiful rural landscape of Haga Town. In addition, Higashiyama Onsen is located near the roadside station, and you can also take a day trip to bathe there. We recommend soothing your tired body in the hot springs after a long drive.
