Kata no Yu is a day-trip hot spring facility located in Iinan Town, Iishi District, Shimane Prefecture. Its greatest feature is that the hot spring water poured into the bathtub is a "golden cloudy water" that turns golden when it comes into contact with air. This hot spring has a carbon dioxide-containing sodium and calcium bicarbonate spring (hypotonic neutral cold mineral spring) quality, and the carbon dioxide gas expands blood vessels and promotes blood circulation, so even at a lukewarm temperature it warms the body to the core. There is also a legend that a military commander who was active in this area since ancient times healed his wounds here.

There are two types of baths: a rock bath and a cypress bath, which are switched weekly for men and women. You can sometimes see "Yunohana", which is formed when the hot spring ingredients solidify, which is a valuable experience for hot spring fans. While soaking in the hot spring, you can view the surrounding mountains and rural scenery, and relax in nature.

Within the facility, there is a restaurant called "Gonbee Chaya" where you can enjoy home-style local cuisine made with local ingredients. After warming up in the hot springs, you can enjoy a healthy lunch made with plenty of fresh local vegetables and seasonal ingredients.
