This is a historic Soto Zen temple in Kurayoshi, Tottori Prefecture. It is a power spot where you can pray for good fortune and have your fortune read using a giant star-divining board measuring 8 meters in diameter.
Manshoji Temple is an ancient temple of the Soto sect founded in the early Edo period that blends in with the old streets of Kurayoshi, and has been a place of worship for many years. The principal image is the Eleven-Headed Kannon Bodhisattva, which is said to ward off evil, bring good fortune, and grant wishes, and worshippers from all over the country visit the temple.

The temple grounds are home to one of Japan's largest giant star-divining boards.
This giant star-divining board was created in 2010 as a modern adaptation of the ancient secret astrology.
The giant board, 8 meters in diameter, is decorated with the nine stars, and you can read your star sign based on your date of birth.

This is a recommended spot for those who want to pray for good fortune at a power spot, those who want to spend some relaxing time at a historic temple, and those who want to combine a stroll through Kurayoshi's old streets with a visit to the temple.
