Itatehyozu Shrine, located near Himeji Castle, is the main shrine that enshrines the gods of Harima Province. Known for its blessings of warding off evil, inviting good fortune, ensuring safety in the home, and bringing bountiful harvests, it is the center of local culture, with various festivals held throughout the year.
Itatehyozu Shrine, the main shrine of Harima Province, is a historic shrine with a history of over 1,400 years. It is said to have been founded in the 25th year of the reign of Emperor Kinmei (564), and has long been affectionately known to local people as "Soja-san" as the "main shrine" that enshrines all the large and small gods (gods) in Harima. The two main deities enshrined are Itate no Okami and Hyozu no Okami, and due to the divine virtue of the two gods, "two gods, one light," it is said to bring various benefits such as warding off evil, bringing good fortune, and finding a partner.

The grounds are spacious and exude a sense of history and dignity. In addition to the magnificent architectural beauty of the main hall and worship hall, the sub-shrines (small shrines that enshrine other gods) scattered throughout the grounds are also must-sees. There are many things to see here, including the shrine dedicated to Okuninushi-no-Mikoto, the god of matchmaking, and the "Nade-mimizuku" (petaled owl), a symbol of wisdom. A wide variety of festivals are held throughout the year, and the "Yakujin Festival" in February and the "Summer Festival" held in the summer are particularly popular.

It is popular with women as it is said to bring good luck in finding a partner and praying for safe childbirth.
There are also Kuroda Kanbei amulets for men that will increase your luck in winning.

[Trivia]
Itatehyoshu Shrine is famous for its good luck in finding a partner. In particular, the approach to the shrine, known as "Himeji Matchmaking Street," is lined with plaques designed with hearts, and many people visit to pray for the fulfillment of their love.
