Owakudani is a landform created when Kamiyama (1,438m above sea level) collapsed due to an eruption about 3,000 years ago. Even now, sulfur-containing fumes are rising from various places, and the surrounding area is a desolate landscape lined with withered trees.

Hakone Volcano has many fumarole areas, and the area is filled with the smell of sulfur.

The specialty is the black boiled eggs that are boiled in the hot springs of the geothermal area.
