Toyotoshi Pond Dam

Located in Kanonji City, Kagawa Prefecture, this is Japan's oldest surviving stone masonry dam.
The main body of the dam is a gravity type at both ends and a multiple arch type at the center, and consists of 5 arches and 6 buttresses.

The Hounenike Dam is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan and is highly regarded for its historical and technical value.

An event called Hounenike Yurunuki is held when the water level of Isekiike downstream reaches about 30%. You will be notified in advance on our website.
