Located in front of the gate of Taga Taisha Shrine, this long-established Japanese confectionery shop is famous for its soft and gentle texture of Itokiri Mochi.

Itokirimochi is a thinly rolled mochi wrapped in red bean paste, which is then cut into even thinner pieces.

Tagaya's Itokiri Mochi is made using a unique method of steaming rice flour twice and roasting it four times as much as rice cake.

As a result, the mochi has a chewy texture, and the red bean paste is less sweet and has an elegant taste.
