The Fukui Prefectural Seaside Nature Center is a facility in Wakasa-cho, Mikata-Kaminaka-gun, Fukui Prefecture, where you can learn about and experience the rich marine nature of Wakasa Bay. It is located within Wakasa Bay Quasi-National Park and has been renovated with the concept of "a new space for learning and healing in the ocean (sea lake)." Admission is free.
The museum displays various marine life, mainly fish that live in Wakasa Bay and the Mikata Five Lakes. There is a touch pool where you can touch sea creatures such as starfish and sea cucumbers. You can also feed fish (for a fee) in the "Mysterious Water Tank." You can learn about the ecology of marine life and the natural environment of Wakasa through watching, touching, and experiencing.

In addition, there are many experience programs such as craft experiences using shells and seaweed (for a fee), snorkeling, and nature observation courses such as observing sea creatures (seasonal, some with a fee). There is also a theater and a kids' room, making it easy to use even with small children. Behind the facility is a large beach where you can freely stroll.
