Sangajo is a 1,062m mountain in Kagamino Town with a great view. With stone Buddha statues and grass ridges, it is a gentle ridge walk and is perfect for family hiking or beginner trekking.
Since ancient times, this sacred mountain has been the focus of mountain worship. Stone statues of En no Gyoja and Acala stand at the summit, while the bamboo grass fields and granite boulders create a landscape reminiscent of "stone art." There are few dangerous areas, the trail is well-marked, and the summit is tree-free, offering a spectacular 360-degree panorama all the way to Mt. Daisen. Depending on the season, you can also enjoy delicate flowers like gentians, making this the perfect hike for your first hike in the Chugoku Mountains.

The climb from the Migakami trailhead parking lot takes approximately 1-1.5 hours.

As its name suggests, Migakami is a short traverse of a series of peaks. The most common route is between Stone Statue Peak, which offers the best views, and the peak with the triangulation point. There are short ropes and steep, slippery slopes along the way, so trekking shoes and foot protection are recommended.

Parking is available on the right side of the trail, about 50 meters before the trailhead, with space for approximately five cars.
If the parking lot is full, you may be able to park in the grassy area just beyond the trailhead, but be careful as the road is narrow.

[Helpful Concerns]
There are no restrooms, so it's best to use the restroom at the roadside station, convenience store, or Kagamino Town Kami-Saihara Promotion Center at the foot of the mountain before reaching the trailhead.
