Ganso Kataboro Honpo is a Japanese confectionery shop with a long history, founded in 1894. The shop is located in Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture, and their signature product, Kataboro, has been loved by many people for over 100 years.

Kataboro is a simple yet uniquely "hard" confectionery made by baking wheat flour dough twice and sprinkling it with ginger sugar. The proper way to eat it is to lick it first to soften it, then chew it. The mild flavor and simple sweetness of ginger spreads throughout your mouth.
