Ryugado Cave is a limestone cave located in Kami City, Kochi Prefecture. Counted as one of the three major limestone caves in Japan, it is said to have been formed over 175 million years.
The length of the cave is about 4km, of which about 1km is open to the public as a tourist course. On the sightseeing course, you can enjoy various natural formations of stalactites, such as the huge 11-meter-tall stone pillar “Amaraishi” and the “Tamadare Falls” carved by the flow of water.

Also, in the cave, the ruins of caves and Yayoi-style earthenware that were said to have been used in the Yayoi period have been discovered. Ryugado Cave is a valuable tourist spot that combines natural beauty and historical value.
