Sanbe Azukihara Buried Forest Park is a Jomon period buried forest designated as a national natural monument located in Sanbe Town, Ota City, Shimane Prefecture.
You can see a huge tree that was buried by a volcano 4000 years ago.
About 200 giant trees, including standing trees and fallen trees, are displayed in the underground exhibition hall. Among them, the giant trees whose root circumference reaches nearly 10 meters make you realize how magnificent the ancient forest was.

The Sanbe Azukihara Buried Forest is one of the constituent cultural properties of the Japan Heritage "The Eternal History of the Volcanoes of Iwami - A Journey to Encounter the 'Jomon Forest' and the 'Silver Mountain'".
