Designated as a national scenic spot, Muroto-Anan Kaigan Quasi-National Park, it has been selected as one of the New Eight Views of Japan and No. 22 of the 88 Views of Shikoku.

Geography At the southern tip of the Aki mountain range, it protrudes greatly into the Pacific Ocean, separating the Kii Channel and Tosa Bay.

Mudstone, sandstone, and gabbro form coastal terraces, reefs, and strangely shaped rocks. It is warm even in winter, and subtropical plants flourish.

A coastal terrace has developed on the west side of the cape, and its unique topography and rich nature are attractive tourist spots.

In particular, there are various attractions such as the promenade where you can enjoy the dynamic scenery and the lighthouse where the sunset and night view are beautiful.

Cape Muroto is also known as a power spot, such as Mikurodo, where Kukai (Kobo Daishi) is said to have been enlightened, and Shikoku 88 temples (Mosumisakiji Temple).

It is more than 80 km from Kochi city and takes about 2 hours by car.
