The enshrined deity, Sarutahiko no Mikoto, is the deity who guided Ninigi no Mikoto, an incarnation of Amaterasu Omikami, during the descent of the sun goddess. He is said to have divine virtues such as longevity, marriage, child-bearing, good luck, academic achievement, traffic safety, and voyage safety.
