Hō-ō-dō" is a national treasure building located in Uji City, Nara Prefecture, Japan. It is a Buddhist temple built in the Heian period and is famous for its unique architectural style that combines the "Hōryū-ji style," which was influenced by Prince Shōtoku, and the characteristics of the Heian period. The building has been designated as a national treasure due to its distinctive shape with connected phoenix heads.

In addition to its historical and architectural significance, Hō-ō-dō is also known as one of the most beautiful autumn foliage spots in Japan. Many tourists visit in the fall season when the foliage is beautifully colored. Special admission is offered during the peak season from November to December. Hō-ō-dō is also famous for being depicted on the Japanese 10-yen coin.

In 2014, the roof was replaced and the columns repainted, giving the building a fresh new look. Access to Hō-ō-dō is a 10-minute walk from JR Uji Station, or a 10-minute drive from Uji Higashi Interchange on the Keiji Bypass. There is no dedicated parking lot, but some souvenir shops in the area offer parking for 700 yen per day.
