Nijigahama Beach is a shallow, calm beach in Hikari City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, which has been selected as one of the 88 best swimming beaches in Japan. It features beautiful white sand and a pine forest, and offers a variety of ways to enjoy the beach, including marine sports and sunset viewing.
Nijigahama Beach is a vast white sand beach located in the Setonaikai National Park, stretching for a total length of 2.4 km. As its name suggests, the sparkling sand and calm emerald green sea attract visitors on sunny days. The shallow waters and calm waves make it safe for families with small children to enjoy swimming. In the summer, the beach is bustling with many beachgoers and full of energy.
Behind the beach is a beautiful pine forest, and the contrast between the green of the pine trees, the blue of the sea, and the white of the sand is striking. This pine forest was once planted as a windbreak, and now it beautifully colors the beach's scenery and also serves as a rest area that provides shade. In addition to swimming, you can enjoy nature in various ways, such as beach volleyball, walking on the sand, and watching the sunset.
The surrounding area is equipped with facilities such as showers, changing rooms, and toilets, making it comfortable to stay. Snacks and drinks are also sold at the beach house, so you can spend the whole day on the beach.
Barbecues are prohibited.
