This natural park spreads out behind Itsukushima Shrine in Miyajima, Hiroshima Prefecture. In autumn, about 700 maple trees change color, creating a breathtaking view.
Located at the foot of Mt. Misen, Momijidani Park is one of the most famous spots in western Japan for viewing autumn leaves. As its name suggests, the entire island is ablaze with beautiful autumn leaves in autumn. There are about 700 maple trees planted, and with many varieties, you can enjoy various gradations of red, yellow, and orange depending on the season from late October to late November. It is a special experience to stroll through the colorful autumn leaves while listening to the clear murmuring of the valley stream.

Within the park, there is Omoto Park, a sub-shrine of Itsukushima Shrine, and a path leading to the Tahoto Pagoda, and the contrast between the autumn leaves and historical buildings gives a sense of Japanese aesthetics. In particular, the Momijidani Bridge, covered in autumn leaves, is a popular photo spot.

Apart from the autumn leaves, the greenery in early summer is also beautiful.
