The Tokugawa Garden adjacent to the museum is a beautiful Japanese garden with a pond and strolling style that recreates the feudal lord gardens of the Edo period. The garden is designed to skillfully incorporate natural scenery, with waterfalls, streams, and ponds. Flowers bloom in every season, with cherry blossoms in spring, irises in early summer, autumn leaves in autumn, and snow hangings in winter, giving the garden a different look every time you visit. Especially during the autumn leaves season, the entire garden is dyed in fiery red and yellow, creating a breathtaking beauty. By strolling through the garden, you can forget the hustle and bustle of the city and spend a relaxing time.
The Tokugawa Art Museum and Tokugawa Garden can be enjoyed on their own, but by visiting both, you can experience the deeper charm of the history and culture of the Owari Tokugawa family and the beauty of nature.
The Tokugawa Art Museum is conveniently located next to the Tokugawa Garden, with a view of Nagoya Castle. We also recommend a sightseeing course that touches on history and culture, touring the Tokugawa Art Museum, Tokugawa Garden, and Nagoya Castle.
There is an entrance to the municipal Tokugawa Garden parking lot on the north side of the park. There are also 17 parking spaces (free of charge) on the south side for the disabled.
