Kodaiji is a temple of the Kenninji sect of the Rinzai sect located in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, built by Kita Mandokoro, the legal wife of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, to pray for Hideyoshi's repose.
Kodaiji Temple is a temple that retains the architectural style of the Momoyama period, and is designated as a national historic site and scenic spot. It is also popular with many people as a temple associated with Hideyoshi and Kitanomandokoro.

Autumn is also a famous place for autumn leaves.
