Enkoji Temple began as Rakuyo School, which was opened by Tokugawa Ieyasu.
Enkoji Temple is known as a Zen temple as well as the temple where the Fushimi version printing business was carried out. The Fushimi version is a book printed using wood type and is one of the earliest type books in Japan. The Fushimi version printing business was carried out by order of Tokugawa Ieyasu, and the wooden type from that time still remains at Enkoji Temple.

Depending on the season, you can enjoy scenic views such as Jugyu Garden, Suikinkutsu, Ganryu Garden, and Okyo Bamboo Grove.
