Odawara Castle is located in Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and was the home base of the Hojo clan from the Sengoku period to the Edo period.
The castle tower is an imitation of RC structure. The upper part of the castle tower is an observation deck.

Odawara Castle was built in 1493 by Hojo Soun. After that, Mr. Hojo expanded his power based on Odawara Castle and became the champion of Kanto.

In 1590, during the conquest of Odawara by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the Hojo clan besieged Odawara Castle and engaged in a fierce battle. However, he finally surrendered because he could not withstand the overwhelming force of the Toyotomi army.

Odawara Castle was demolished by order of Hideyoshi Toyotomi, but was rebuilt as the Odawara clan's office during the Edo period. The castle was abandoned in the Meiji period and is now designated as a national historic site.
