Yukamuri Onsen Public Bath is a hot spring facility loved by locals, which retains the atmosphere of a traditional public bath. "Yukamuri" is a bathing custom unique to Iwai Onsen, in which you put a hand towel on your head and pour hot water over your head with a ladle. This is said to be a way of getting your body used to the hot water and allowing you to soak in it for a long time.
Next to the public baths is a Western-style building that was once used as the old Iwai Elementary School building, and is a symbol of the hot spring town.
