Beppu Onsen boasts the largest number of hot spring sources and the highest output in Japan.
Takegawara Onsen is a municipal public hot spring located in Motomachi, Beppu City, Oita Prefecture.
The feature of Takegawara Onsen is its gorgeous roof made of Karahafu style. The current building was built in 1938 and is registered as a registered tangible cultural property.

The bathhouse is divided into men's and women's baths. The characteristics of the spring water are different, with black water for men and white water for women. In addition, there is a sand bath in the men's bath, and you can enjoy the hot spring while being buried in the sand.
