This is an impressive waterfall with a height of 73m.

Yaken Falls is a waterfall where the water flowing from Mt. Kakuzaki (1071 m) east of Mt. Osuzu falls down a 73 m rock wall in several strips. There are many rocks lying under the waterfall, and it is thought that these are the rock walls that have fallen due to years of erosion.

The name Yaken Falls comes from the legend that Emperor Jimmu, the first emperor mentioned in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, sharpened his arrows at this waterfall during his expedition to the east.

It is about 30 minutes from the parking lot. It is prohibited to enter near the waterfall, so you cannot go very close to it.

The area around the parking lot is Osuzu Prefectural Park, and the water is very clean.
