Nabegataki Falls

Nabegataki is a waterfall located in Aso, Kumamoto Prefecture. Although it is not a large waterfall with a height of 12m and a width of 20m, it is popular as a waterfall with a large space behind the waterfall.

The way the water falls wide like a curtain and is illuminated by the sunlight filtering through the trees is very elegant and mysterious.

There is a nighttime illumination event held in early April that is very popular and fantastic.

Admission is free, but advance reservations are required to ease traffic congestion on the roads surrounding Nabegataki Park and to avoid crowding within the park. You can make a reservation online.
