Kyushu National Museum is an art and history museum located in Dazaifu City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
Exhibits on the formation of Japanese culture from the Paleolithic period to the end of the early modern period.
The exhibitions at the Kyushu National Museum are divided into three main categories: permanent exhibitions, special exhibitions, and hands-on exhibitions.
The permanent exhibition introduces the history and culture of Kyushu from a wide range of eras, from ancient times to the present day. Many valuable materials are on display, including national treasures and important cultural properties.
Special exhibitions are based on themes related to Kyushu's history and culture. Materials borrowed from museums in Japan and abroad may also be displayed.
The modern glass building was designed by architect Kiyonori Kikutake.
