It is a historic site that reproduces a village from the Yayoi period, straddling Kanzaki City and Yoshinogari Town in Saga Prefecture. It has been selected as one of the 100 best castles in Japan.
The Yoshinogari Ruins are Yayoi period ruins that straddle Kanzaki City and Yoshinogari Town, Saga Prefecture. In the 1980s, an excavation survey accompanying the development of an industrial park discovered a moated village from the Yayoi period.

The Yoshinogari ruins are a large-scale settlement that flourished for approximately 700 years from the early to late Yayoi period. The village is surrounded by a double moat, an outer moat and an inner moat, with a total length of approximately 2.5 km. A variety of ruins remain within the village, including the remains of residences, warehouses, and ritual sites.

Many valuable artifacts have also been discovered at the Yoshinogari ruins. Among them, there are many items that demonstrate the high level of technology of the Yayoi period, such as bronze swords with handles, iron swords, and glass tube beads.
