The actual Antarctic research ship Fuji, which was active for 18 years starting in 1965, has been turned into a museum.
During her 18 years of service, Fuji visited Antarctica 17 times and Syowa Station 16 times. It was indispensable for Antarctic observation, such as transporting expedition team members, transporting supplies, and supporting observation activities.
In the Fujino Museum, you can see exhibits that introduce the history of Antarctic research and Fuji's activities. You can also tour the inside of the ship and get a glimpse of the life of the sailors at that time.
You can feel the world of Antarctica up close, and it is recommended for elementary school children.
