Matchin is a small Japanese confectionery shop popular in Iga.
Matchin is known for their popular warabi mochi, a type of Japanese sweet made with bracken starch and covered in kinako (roasted soybean flour). The warabi mochi at Matchin is filled with a soft, sticky center and covered generously in kinako powder. They tend to sell out quickly, often before noon, so it's recommended to make a reservation in advance.

Interestingly, "Matchin" is actually the nickname of the older brother who currently runs Tsubameya, a Japanese confectionery shop based in Gifu. The Matchin shop in Iga is the original location, which is now run by the mother and younger sister.

The shop is located in a residential area and is quite small, with limited parking. It may not be suitable for large groups of visitors.
