The Mukibanda Ruins, one of Japan's largest Yayoi period settlement sites, stretches approximately 2km east to west and 1.7km north to south, covering approximately 170 hectares, of which 152 hectares are designated as a National Historic Site. A variety of remains have been discovered, including pit dwellings, post-hole buildings, and burial mounds, making it known as a large-scale settlement representative of the Yayoi period.

Excavations have unearthed numerous artifacts, including pottery, stone tools, and magatama (comma-shaped beads), providing valuable insights into the lifestyles and culture of the time. While many of the remains have been reburied for preservation, the findings are presented on-site for easy understanding.

The park features a collection of restored pit dwellings and raised storehouses, and visitors can experience life in a multi-dimensional way by walking through the "Yayoi Forest" and "Miharashi no Oka" (Viewing Hill). The central facility, "Yayoi no Yakata Mukibanda," offers exhibits on lifestyles, interactions, and village structures, hands-on activities like magatama (comma-shaped bead) crafting, an information counter, and a shop. There is also the "Remains Exhibition Hall" where you can get a close-up look at the site as it was at the time of excavation, and the "Yayoi Forest Rest House" which is convenient for taking a break. You can efficiently tour the site by taking advantage of the free volunteer guides and basic tour courses.
