This is a memorial museum where you can learn about the history of the time, including the Unzen Maru, the first ship salvaged from Manchuria after the war.
Maizuru was the largest port to receive repatriates from Manchuria and Siberia after World War II, and about one million repatriates landed at Maizuru. The Maizuru Repatriation Memorial Hall was opened in 1988 as a facility to pass on the history and hardships of the repatriates who landed in Maizuru to future generations and appeal for the preciousness of peace.

The Maizuru Repatriation Memorial Hall is a valuable facility where you can learn about the tragedy of World War II and the hardships of repatriates. It is also a facility that serves as an opportunity to reconsider the preciousness of peace.
