Later, Tokugawa Ieyasu rebuilt the largest castle in Japan to wipe out the Toyotomi influence.
The castle tower is a concrete replica.
The castle tower is famous as the symbol of Osaka Castle. The restored castle tower reproduces Toyotomi Hideyoshi's luxurious residence, and inside there are exhibits on Toyotomi Hideyoshi's life and the Siege of Osaka. The view from the top of the castle tower is spectacular, and you can see the whole of Osaka city.
The Sakuramon Gate in the Honmaru has the largest stone wall in Japan, measuring 32 tatami mats.
Admission is free except for the castle tower.
Miraiza Osaka Castle, located in Osaka Castle Park, is a complex that was renovated from the former headquarters building. It has restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops, and more, so you can enjoy eating and shopping in a historic building. It is also located right in front of the castle tower, making it the perfect place to take photos with the tower in the background.
Osaka Castle Park is a vast area filled with lush trees and waterside areas, allowing you to enjoy beautiful scenery throughout the seasons. During cherry blossom viewing season, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom and many tourists visit the park.
