It is a castle in Kumamoto City that has been selected as one of the 100 best castles in Japan. It is one of Japan's top three castles, built in 1607 by Kiyomasa Kato.

It is currently undergoing repair work due to the effects of the earthquake.

The main keep is a simulated building made of concrete.
The castle tower is 5 stories high, 6 stories high, and is also called "Gingko Castle" because of its gold-colored roof.

Kumamoto Castle is a flat mountain castle built on Mt. Chausu at an altitude of 40 meters, with a total length of 2.6 kilometers of stone walls, moats, turrets and other structures forming a beautiful landscape.
