It is a castle with an existing castle tower built in Katsuyama on the Matsuyama Plain.
In 1602 (Keicho 7), Yoshiaki Kato started construction of the castle, and his son Tadahiro Kato completed it in 1611 (Keicho 16).
Matsuyama Castle is a vast flat mountain castle with the main enclosure at the summit of Shiroyama (Katsuyama) at an altitude of 132 meters, and the Ninomaru (Ninomaru Historical Garden) and Sannomaru (Horinouchi) at the foot of the castle.

There is a ropeway and a lift, so you can easily go up to the castle tower.
