Kasuga Taisha is a Shinto shrine located in Nara City, Nara Prefecture, Japan. As part of the historic sites of ancient Nara, it is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The shrine was established in 768 and is dedicated to the four deities that appear in Japanese mythology, specifically, Takemikazuchi-no-mikoto (武甕槌命), Futsunushi-no-mikoto (経津主命), Ame-no-Koyane-no-mikoto (天児屋根命), and Hime-no-mikoto (比売命).

Kasuga Taisha has a strong connection to the Shinto faith in Japan and was highly revered by the Imperial family and aristocracy during the Heian period, when aristocratic culture flourished. Moreover, Kasuga Taisha has had a significant influence on Japan's history and culture from the Nara period to the Heian period.

The grounds of Kasuga Taisha are rich in natural beauty and emanate a mysterious atmosphere, welcoming visitors in a space surrounded by greenery. Deer roam freely along the approach to the shrine, considered messengers of the gods, and are cherished by visitors as a soothing presence. The shrine grounds offer various attractions, including the main hall, worship hall, stone lanterns, and Mount Wakakusa.

Throughout the year, Kasuga Taisha hosts a variety of festivals and events, with the Kasuga Taisha Grand Festival (春日大社大祭), held in December, being a historically significant festival dating back to the Nara period, attracting many visitors for worship.
