Yakuyoke Yakuoji Temple

Yakuoji Temple is a temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect located in Minami-cho, Kaifu-gun, Tokushima Prefecture. Iouzan, called Muryojuin. The principal object of worship is Yakushi Nyorai. Known as the 23rd Fudasho of the 88 Temples of Shikoku, it is a temple that wards off evil nationwide.
The way to ward off evil at Yakuoji Temple is to climb up the Yakuzaka slope at the back of the main hall while placing a 1-yen coin on each step. Yakuzaka is embedded with Yakushi Nyorai's scriptures written on pebbles.

Yakuoji Onsen facilities are located on the grounds in front of the temple.
