Nakazu Banshoen is a large Japanese garden created by Takatoyo Kyogoku, the lord of the Marugame domain. The Marugame Museum has paintings by Millet and Rousseau.
Nakazu Banshoen was built in 1688 as an annex of the Marugame feudal lord Kyogoku family. There are more than 1,500 dwarf pine trees planted along the beach of white sand and green pine trees, and in the center of the garden, there is Hakkeiike Pond in the shape of Lake Biwa in Omi, the ancestral land of the Kyogoku family.
