Baekje-ji Temple is the oldest of the Koto Sanzan, founded in 606.
In the past, the scale was greatly expanded, but the entire mountain was burned down by Nobunaga Oda.
The current main hall was rebuilt in the Edo period.

It is said to have been built by Prince Shotoku. In the precincts, the National Treasure Eleven-faced Kannon Bodhisattva, which is said to have been made by Prince Shotoku, is enshrined.
