Gifu Castle and Mt. Kinka Observatory

Gifu Castle was Yamashiro, which Nobunaga Oda took from Saito and became Gifu Castle.
The castle tower was rebuilt with reinforced concrete in 1957. It is also selected as one of the 100 best castles in Japan.

There is a Kinkazan Ropeway to the castle. It runs every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 10 minutes on weekends.

It can be reached on foot in about an hour.
