A mountain villa built by Jozan Ishikawa in the early Edo period, with a wonderful garden that changes with the seasons.
Shisendo is a garden that represents the literati culture of the Edo period and is designated as a special scenic spot of the country. The garden is a strolling garden modeled after the Tang Dynasty of China, and the flowing white sand is impressive. In addition, paintings and calligraphy that Jozan loved, as well as handicrafts, are on display, including Shisen no Ma.

It is a quiet garden where the sound of Shishiodoshi echoes.

Currently, it is also a temple of the Soto sect and is called Jozanji.
